National Women’s Caucus for Art Past President, 2000 – 2002
Magi Amma became the first president elected by the members of the WCA in the year 2000. Under Amma’s leadership the WCA completely recovered from the finacial crisis of 1998. Through fundraising efforts the Endowment Fund was reestablished. The Honors Awards and National Conferences were reinstated by the board. Communication was a principal focus and members received a WCA website, monthly email bulletins, a chapter-officer listserve, and the membership directory was republished. The board increased the number of WCA representatives elected from Chapters Council to the National Board from three to five allowing more member input into the organization. Finally, in order to expand regional relations Amma initiated the Chapter Matching Funds Grant.
